There's something yet to be solved when it comes to attribution of spend in web3 gaming.
In web2, attribution is key for analyzing campaign efficacy.
In web3, community/creators + applications are the main distribution channel but the ability to tie onchain activity to the source is limited.
This is best solved at the wallet/address level.
We've had some cool experiments over the years:
2018: for every 5 Origin axies someone bought using your ref link you got an Origin axie (with reptile/birds/bugs only possible to be earned in this way)
2019: 5% or 10% (creators and partners got a boosted ref link) of land sales were given to the referrer
2022: Lunacian code: portion of axie marketplace fee was shared with referrers
I believe the eventual, scalable solution will look something like this:
Creator/Community member/game developer has a unique ref code that they share to users. It prompts them to download ronin wallet.
A portion of the fees/revenue that the user generates from Ronin gas fees, Ronin Market fees, and Katana (dex) fees are then shared with the referrer. For life.
Would you be interested in something like this on Ronin?
It would be similar to a wallet ref. program.
