I'm glad to see the explosive growth of posts about @ SuccinchLabs on Twitter now. As a loyal supporter of succinct for over two years, it feels like a child raised by oneself has finally made a name for themselves! 😋
I think succinct satisfies the "Three Bulls and One Heavy" Big Mao Law (i.e. impressive background, excellent technology, excellent marketing, and emphasis on community), and has great potential for rewards!
Background awesome: $55 million financing, supported by top institutions
The starting point of Succinct is on the shoulders of giants. In 2024, it completed seed and Series A financing totaling up to $55 million, led by Paradigm, the most renowned investment firm in the blockchain field. This VC has always had a sharp eye and has placed bets on current industry giants such as Uniswap and Optimism. In addition to Paradigm, Succinct has also attracted a number of well-known funds such as Robot Ventures, Bankless Ventures, Geometry, ZK Validator, as well as heavyweight angel investors such as Sreeram Kannan from Eigenlayer, Sandeep Nailwal and Daniel Lubarov from Polygon. This luxurious lineup not only brings funding, but also provides unparalleled resources and network support for Succinct. This background is sufficient to prove its top position in the ZK infrastructure field. (There is an article that specifically dug up a lot of information about two founders, but I can't find it)
Tech genius: Founder of SP1 zkVM, redefining ZK development
The technical strength of the Succinct team is mainly reflected in the development of SP1 zkVM and decentralized proof of network. SP1 is the world's first fully open-source zero knowledge virtual machine, built from scratch by a team, with performance comparable to handwritten ZK circuits and support for mainstream languages such as Rust. This "efficient+universal" design cannot be achieved without the profound foundation and engineering ability of the cryptographic experts in the team.
Among the core developers, some have made outstanding contributions to the optimization of RISC-V architecture, which directly contributes to the performance breakthrough of SP1. It is reported that SP1's proof generation speed is several times faster than other zkVMs in the industry, which is due to the team's ultimate optimization of the underlying hardware and algorithms. The design of the decentralized proof network (Succinct Prover Network) demonstrates the team's foresight in distributed systems and economic incentive models - they not only understand technology, but also can transform it into developer friendly infrastructure. The hardcore level of this technology has been validated by top projects such as Celestia, Wormhole, Lido, etc., which proves the team's dominance in the ZK field.
Marketing genius: low-key layout, high-profile and eye-catching operator
Succinct's marketing strategy can be considered brilliant. It adopts an invitation based testing network and strictly controls the user base, which is currently stable between 22000 and 25000. This' few people, no roll 'model avoids the common wool party problem in large-scale airdrop projects and ensures the quality of participants. Succinct launches star missions through the Level 1 series of activities, combined with gamified design to attract user participation while maintaining community heat. The official regularly releases progress updates and maintains transparent communication with users, further enhancing brand trust. This precise market control and high user stickiness marketing approach has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent token economy and community governance of the project. (For those who haven't had the chance to enter yet, you can focus on level 2. I'm still looking forward to it.)
Valuing the community: a practitioner of putting users first and a creator of the ecological foundation
The Succinct team's emphasis on the community is reflected in every detail. The decision to subsidize gas fees may have come from a member who has been responsible for user experience in DeFi projects and is well aware of the importance of lowering the participation threshold for ecological expansion. In addition, the team frequently interacts on Discord and Twitter, even adjusting functions based on community feedback, which is great for listening and execution.
A community leader once revealed in an AMA that there is a clear division of labor within the team to ensure that every user suggestion can be recorded and evaluated. This kind of dedication to the community not only cultivates a highly cohesive user group, but also lays the groundwork for future decentralized governance.
Succinct's DC is lively 24 hours a day, it's really lively. I went in at 2:30 pm yesterday to see it, and it was as lively as many projects' DC's white submissions.
Conclusion: Must have a big number!
Succinct's team is an "all-star lineup" that combines academic depth, technical expertise, marketing wisdom, and community spirit. From Uma Roy's background in Berkeley, to John Smith's practical experience in Ethereum, and to the technological breakthroughs of a cryptography PhD, each member has injected unique value into the project. The $55 million financing (led by Paradigm) is a recognition of the team by capital, SP1 zkVM is a proof of technological strength, and precision marketing and community building are guarantees of ecological potential.
For such a project that has not yet been released, the team's strength indicates great potential for future airdrops or rewards. With few participants and high value, Succinct is almost born for the sake of 'big hair'. Whether it's short-term gains or long-term ecological value, this amazing team has made Succinct a track king worth all in!
Finally, I had a sudden idea that the entry threshold is an invitation code. Do you think 25000 invitation codes are not valuable?
But if the team takes the initiative and eventually becomes 25000 NFTs graded according to the ranking list, and then TGE, do you think that one invitation code has a high value?
It's just that strange haha, some people like to make things a little complicated
