BlockBeats News: On March 15th, an official from the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated that the organization will only release the detained individual Aidan Alexander, who holds dual citizenship of the United States and Israel, as well as the bodies of four other detainees, if Israel fully implements the previously reached ceasefire agreement. This is a 'special agreement' aimed at putting Gaza ceasefire negotiations back on track. The official stated that once Hamas releases Aidan Alexander, the long delayed second phase of ceasefire negotiations must begin on the same day and not exceed 50 days in duration. In addition, Israel needs to immediately implement the existing ceasefire agreement, withdraw from the Philadelphia Corridor located on the Gaza Strip Egypt border, allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza, and release more Palestinian detainees in exchange for Israeli personnel.
