According to Decrypt, the UK Court of Appeal has rejected a Welsh man's request to dig into a landfill, claiming that his hard drive was discarded in the landfill over a decade ago and contained $676 million worth of Bitcoin. This software engineer mined lost Bitcoin in 2009, and in 2013, the man's former partner threw away the hard drive containing the key for 8000 Bitcoin. Subsequently, a lengthy legal battle was launched to obtain the right to enter the landfill, and he believed that his token might be buried there. He even considered purchasing the landfill.
