According to a report by Jin Shi, the Chairman of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, Jordan, has requested that Apple (AAPL. O), Microsoft (MSFT. O), and over a dozen other tech companies provide information on their work in artificial intelligence and whether they colluded with the Biden administration to review freedom of speech. Jordan said in his letter to the executives of these companies on Thursday that the committee is drafting legislation to protect the civil liberties of Americans from being violated in the progress of artificial intelligence technology. Lawmakers need to "fully understand" the nature and extent of what he called "censorship" under the leadership of President Biden. Jordan said in a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook, "Therefore, we are writing to request documents and information regarding the nature and extent of your company's interaction with the administrative department regarding the content review of artificial intelligence models." This statement was echoed in letters sent to other executives. Jordan's move marks an escalation of his actions against the previous government and foreign governments that restricted the speech of right-wing figures and groups.
