BlockBeats News: On March 11th, FOX Business reporter Eleanor Terrett revealed in a post that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), under the leadership of Acting Chairman Mark Uyeda, is considering abandoning part of the 2022 Gensler era proposal, which was originally intended to expand the definition of alternative trading systems (ATS) to include certain cryptocurrency companies. In his speech at the annual Washington meeting of the International Bankers Association today, Uyeda stated, "Given the strong negative public comments on including cryptocurrency in the definition of trading platforms, I have requested SEC employees to provide an option to abandon that part of the proposal He also requested employees to re engage with the US Treasury, Federal Reserve, and market participants to discuss where the committee should advance regulatory changes for alternative trading systems.
