Starting from OP Stack, custom blockchain can achieve seamless interconnection between isomorphic chains, directly integrating blockchain+interoperability. This approach is basically recognized as the undisputed mainstream in the future. OP Stack vs Caldera ----------------------- The super chain plan of OP Stack is based on Optimal Rollup design, which means that you must join this alliance in order for things to be possible. Caldera proposed a full stack Rollup solution with the goal of breaking through this limitation. Caldera's official goal is "The internet of rolls." Rollup Internet, which is simply to make all Rollups interconnected and break the fragmented mobility and experience. We have currently secured $24 million in financing, led by Sequoia Capital, Dragonfly, and Founders Fund. The current trend is that there are more and more Rollups, but these expansion solutions are in an "isolated" state: 1. Developers and liquidity are separated, and Ethereum cannot form a unified ecosystem. 2. It is difficult to have an efficient bridging solution for a single Rollup. Although Optimism Superchain and zkSync Elastic Chain achieve interoperability within their respective frameworks, there are still significant barriers to communication across frameworks. 3. Due to the fragmentation of liquidity, it is often more difficult for new Rollup to establish liquidity, leading to an increasing number of "ghost chains" This will create a vicious cycle: Lack of liquidity → Users unwilling to enter → No trading volume → DeFi finds it difficult to attract LPs, and the new Rollup faces extremely high growth barriers. Caldera's solution is to eliminate the barrier of "cross framework" and simplify the developer's blockchain process, which is an out of the box way. The official meaning is that it is more convenient than the development package form of OP Stack. The future main promotion is the Metalayer solution, a cross chain interoperability framework that allows users to interact across Rollup without perception. Currently, the implementation method is to build a protocol contract on the source chain to interact with the Metalayer Router, transmit messages through a communication protocol (official information is based on Hyperlane), deploy a contract on the target chain that accepts cross chain messages, and parse the messages. The advantage is that there is no need to change the core architecture of Rollup, and all existing Rollups can be connected to it, while the OP super chain needs to be limited to Optimal Rollup. So the roll covers two aspects: -Simpler deployment -Greater interoperability across a wider range Inter chain interoperability is currently an undisputed track and a highly recognized issue that needs to be addressed in the market. In the future, we will see more and more exploration in this field. The advantage of the OP camp is that they have already occupied half of the Ethereum Rollups market, while Caldera is more prominent in terms of openness and flexibility. The development of both is something I will focus on in the future. Of course, none of these can change the innovation bottleneck problem at the application layer, nor can they immediately reverse the decline of the application market.
