BlockBeats News: On March 4th, Canadian politicians advocated for severe retaliatory tariffs on American goods entering the country. Canada's most renowned independent polling agency, the Angus Reid Institute, has reported an increase in voters supporting retaliatory measures against US tariffs over the past month.
Two thirds of Canadians support a 25% tariff on all US imports, up from 60% in January, and nearly two-thirds (65%) support Canada's ban on key exports to the US, including commodities such as oil and minerals. According to polls, only 24% of Canadians have a favorable impression of the United States, down from 58% about two years ago.
US President Trump's aggressive trade strategy towards Canada has changed the political landscape of Canada, providing a lifeline for the ruling Liberal Party, which just a few months ago seemed to suffer a crushing defeat in this year's elections. (Golden Ten)
