If they can lower the price of Bitcoin to a sufficiently low level, it will destroy the simple capital market mechanisms used by these companies to increase Bitcoin. In this environment, it is much better to generate new bitcoins organically at a price far below the market price than to use debt or equity to purchase bitcoins on the public market for "returns", and the market seems to be slowly realizing this trend.
