You saw my recent video showing low to middle-income homes at Catherine Estates.
Today we look at development taking place in other sections of the housing market.
While we have made significant strides in providing middle and affordable housing, we recognize the challenges in the low-income and achievable housing markets.
That’s why we continue to incentivize development, provide land, and introduce initiatives like the Guaranteed Purchase Programme (GPP) to attract more builders to this sector.
We want to see developers build 10,000 homes at a time, bringing houses to market at a much faster rate. With continued investment, capacity-building, and a long-term vision, we will ensure that every Jamaican has access to safe, affordable housing.
We are committed to delivering quality housing for Jamaicans under our housing policy and the transformation of Bernard Lodge is just the beginning.
As we continue on this journey, we reaffirm our commitment to the people of Jamaica, because under our housing policy, homeownership is a promise we intend to keep.
