According to BlockBeats, on March 2nd, a spokesperson for the General Services Administration (GSA) announced on Saturday that the Trump administration has fired a group of tech savvy civil servants who helped establish the free tax filing service of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and renovated the websites of various government departments. Thomas Shedd, Director of Technology Transformation Services at GSA, informed the employees of the digital services team at 18F that their work has been terminated as they have been identified as' non critical 'employees. Approximately 90 18F employees were immediately prohibited from using their equipment. Elon Musk, who leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team, responded to a post on social media platform "X" earlier this month calling 18F a "computer office within the far left government," stating that the team has been "deleted. The Washington Post reported on Saturday that officials from Musk's team have expressed interest in using personal tax records to examine whether federal welfare payments are fraudulent. (Golden Ten)
