one thing that i wanted to do this week but ended up removing from my presentation is a proposed definition of the ethereum network state: to become a member a chain simply needs to: - use the evm - accept eth as legal tender - generate fees for ethereum in some way, either via blobs or via bridging costs this is a much less stringent standard for what is considered part of ethereum today and would instantly increase the adoption of ethereum by including chains that are actually used by everyday people if only stage 2 l2s are considered part of ethereum, then the narrative and metrics are needlessly diluted
