Ok this seems very positive.
A good internally known leader in @hwwonx, an experienced technical leader from Nethermind in @tkstanczak and @dannyryan joining @Etherealize_io which is deeply focused on institutional and commercial focus for Ethereum.
I’m always a bit skeptical of co-director structures, but these all seem like good choices, and a good new direction for the EF and the broader Ethereum ecosystem.
I’m also glad that the absolute assholes in the Ethereum community will lay off @VitalikButerin for a bit as their opinionated vitriol was massively undeserved.
Ethereum has a lot to do in looking at how we both improve the tech without too much slow rule by committee, how we communicate our purpose and message to the world, and how we do all that while being the only smart contract chain with credible neutrality and minimizing the dependence on a centralized entity.
That’s been tough when most of the community has felt the EF was disconnected, and the communication was vague and left a huge delta in expectations.
As long as the new leadership can hold on to those values while finding ways to engage with the community - then I’m overall pretty hopeful that this is a good move!
Congrats to all of those starting new positions here (and congrats to Vitalik for keeping level headed during a frustrating public onslaught and a challenging transition moment in the EFs life. That’s not an easy milestone)
