According to informed sources, Meta Platforms (META. O) plans to release a separate Meta AI app in the second quarter. Meta AI chatbot was launched in September 2023, positioning itself as a generative AI digital assistant that can provide responses and create images based on user prompts in existing applications. The company also plans to test a paid subscription service for Meta AI, similar to how OpenAI and Microsoft charge users a monthly fee. The Chief Financial Officer of Meta stated in January this year that although Meta AI strives to focus on "creating excellent consumer experiences," "over time, there are quite clear profit opportunities here, including paid recommendations and premium services
