Mining company Core Scientific invests $1.2 billion to expand data center

Odaily Planet Daily News: Core Scientific announced a partnership with CoreWeave to invest $1.2 billion in expanding data centers in Denton, Texas to support AI and high-performance computing (HPC) needs. This expansion will add 70 megawatts of power to the data center, bringing the total IT load to approximately 260 megawatts.
After expansion, the total capacity of CoreWeave's HPC infrastructure contract with Core Scientific will increase to approximately 590 megawatts, further strengthening support for NVIDIA GPUs. Core Scientific stated that this move is expected to bring the company a total revenue of $10.2 billion within 12 years and plans to expand more HPC hosting facilities in other regions. Affected by this news, Core Scientific's stock price rose more than 11% in after hours trading.
