According to Golden Finance, Aleksei Andriunin, the founder and CEO of Gottit and a Russian citizen, has been extradited to the United States on suspicion of "manipulating the cryptocurrency market on behalf of a client cryptocurrency company. The Massachusetts prosecutor's office stated that Andriunin appeared in court on Wednesday and was charged by a federal grand jury with "wire fraud and conspiracy to manipulate the market and wire fraud". Andriunin was arrested in Portugal last October. The prosecutor accuses him of creating a cryptocurrency company, falsely promoting tokens, and engaging in greenwashing transactions to create a false impression of active trading and raise the prices of specific tokens. In addition, companies such as ZM Quant, CLS Global, and MyTrade are also involved. The prosecutor claimed that Andriunin admitted in a 2019 interview to developing code for "washout trading" to artificially increase trading volume, thereby enabling the token to be listed on CoinMarketCap and traded on large exchanges. If convicted of wire fraud, Andriunin "may be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison, up to 3 years in prison, up to a fine of $250000 or twice the total proceeds or losses of the crime, as well as compensation and confiscation
