According to Decrypt, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin recently proposed the Cryptocurrency ATM Fraud Prevention Act, aimed at curbing the surge of cryptocurrency ATM fraud. The new regulations will limit new users' daily transactions to no more than $2000 and no more than $10000 within 14 days, and require direct confirmation from the operator for transactions exceeding $500. Victims can receive a full refund if they report the case within 30 days. Durbin emphasized that scammers often impersonate officials and threaten victims (such as elderly people) to make payments through Bitcoin ATMs, citing an example of a New Lennox resident being scammed out of $15000. According to FTC data, Bitcoin ATM fraud losses exceeded $110 million in 2023, nearly ten times higher than in 2020, and the risk of harm to elderly people is three times higher. Currently, there are approximately 29600 encrypted ATMs in the United States, and regulatory deficiencies have fueled crime. http://(wublock123.com)/index.php? m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=6&id=38564
