The market works like a pendulum and swings across extremes. It swung too far to the memecoins and grift side recently and led to an extremely nihilistic vibe on crypto that benefits no one in the long term. It will swing back to more utility-driven tokens in segments such as DeFi just like how the pendulum always swing back.
