On February 25th, Caixin News Agency reported that on Monday (24th) local time, US President Trump stated that the US plan to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada will be "pushed forward as scheduled", and the previous one month "suspension measures" will expire next week.
At a press conference at the White House that day, when asked if the delayed tariffs on these two US trading partners would soon come back into effect, Trump said, "The tariffs are progressing on time and as planned," and it appears that progress is "very fast.
Trump also claimed that the United States has been "taken advantage of" by foreign countries in "almost all aspects" and has been "treated very badly" by many trading partners, not just Canada and Mexico.
