If Ukraine is basically blackmailed into giving up its own lifetime mineral rights, for the basic protections that the US already promised it 1994, then I will vote for, and, donate to the SuperPAC of any candidate who agrees to rip it up once Trump is out of office.
When Ukraine signed the Budapest Memorandum and gave up its nuclear weapons, we promised absolute and unwavering support of Ukraine if its territorial claims were ever threatened by force from Russia.
The US pillaging a country of its critical resources, while it defends itself, defends broader European allies, and weakens one of our largest geopolitical adversaries (with a fraction of the cost the US would spend) is heinous and un-American.
These are the actions of a thug, not a leader.
These actions do not serve American interests.
They line the pockets of oligarchs, the aid Musk is in his quest for growing REEs, and they aid Putin in his goal of economically crushing Eastern Europe into being his lapdog.
From Congress, to the Whitehouse, no American politician should support this; and I’ll be writing checks against any one who does.
