According to a report by Golden Ten, US Treasury Secretary Besson said when discussing the revaluation of gold reserves, "When it comes to sovereign wealth funds, I have said that 'monetizing the balance sheet' is definitely not what I want." When asked if he would discuss this issue, he repeated, "This is not what I want." The current price of gold reserves is $42.22 per ounce, which is the traditional official price from decades ago. Re evaluating the value of these assets based on current market prices may increase the calculation result from $11 billion to approximately $750 billion. He stated that he has no plans to visit Fort Knox in Tennessee, where most of the US gold reserves are located, but he guarantees that "all the gold is there" and welcomes any senator to come and visit.
