Bitcoin mining company Core Scientific plans to acquire Alabama data center

Bitcoin mining company Core Scientific plans to acquire Alabama Data and expand its high-performance computing (HPC) hosting scope to Auburn, Alabama. After signing the lease, Core Scientific becomes the operator of the AUBix facility and plans to exercise the option to purchase infrastructure. The company will make an initial capital investment of approximately $135 million, with an expected total investment of over $400 million for the project.
