Yesterday, I had the opportunity to receive an update from Superintendent Nish, Commanding Officer of the Hanover Police Division who reported a remarkable 67% reduction in murders and a 52% drop in major crimes in the area. Superintendent Nish also emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration with Westmoreland and St. James Police Divisions, which has significantly strengthened our regional crime-fighting efforts. We remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting our security forces, ensuring they have the necessary resources to keep Jamaica safe.
