Odaily Planet Daily News: Federal Reserve policy makers stated at a meeting held about a week after Trump's inauguration on January 20th that Trump's initial policy recommendations have raised concerns about rising inflation at the Federal Reserve. According to the released meeting minutes, attendees generally pointed out the upward risk of inflation prospects, rather than the risk of the job market. The attendees specifically mentioned potential changes in trade and immigration policies, the possibility of geopolitical developments disrupting supply chains, or the potential impact of stronger than expected household spending. "The minutes of the meeting stated that although attendees still had confidence that price pressures would continue to ease," other factors were seen as potentially hindering the anti inflation process, "including" some (Federal Reserve) regional business contacts stating that companies would try to pass on higher input costs from potential tariffs to consumers. "Attendees also pointed out that as a key issue of concern to the Federal Reserve, some indicators measuring inflation expectations" have recently increased. (Golden Ten)
