According to NOW Finance, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission will release a roadmap for the development of virtual assets this afternoon. Ye Zhiheng, Executive Director of the Intermediary Department of the Securities and Futures Commission, stated at the Consensus Forum that it is not difficult to develop a roadmap, and the focus is on how to implement it. He revealed that there is not just one path, but 12 initiatives included. Ye Zhiheng pointed out that there was no timetable specifically included in the roadmap, as it required the industry and stakeholders to rethink how quickly to achieve these 12 initiatives. But he said that it would not take a long time no matter what, as the market changes rapidly, regulatory agencies also need to keep up with the changes, find readily available fruits, and let the market see the results. The Virtual Asset Advisory Group held a meeting earlier, and Ye Zhiheng, who serves as the chairman of the group, stated that the group includes the management of all licensed virtual asset trading platforms in Hong Kong and provides advice to the Securities and Futures Commission, especially on whether these initiatives are on the right track. The next focus is on how quickly to achieve these visions.
