Insiders: Tencent leads investment in Wintermute's latest round of financing

On February 19th, according to Bloomberg, cryptocurrency market maker Wintermute Trading Ltd. is seeking to expand its business to the United States, including opening an office in New York and offering new products in the country. Wintermute is one of the largest liquidity providers in the digital asset market, with offices in London and Singapore. Wintermute CEO Evgeny Gaevoy stated that as part of its expansion plan, the company plans to offer OTC products to American customers and add approximately 5 to 10 people to its existing team of 130. According to insiders, Wintermute recently raised funds in a round of financing led by Tencent Holdings Limited. Tencent and Wintermute have not responded to requests for comment on this round of financing.
