According to a report by Golden Finance, although the name Musk is seen as almost synonymous with the newly established Department of Efficiency, the White House has clarified that Musk does not work for the department. White House Chief of Staff Joshua Fisher stated that Musk is a senior advisor to the President and his authority is not higher compared to other senior White House aides. Fisher stated on Monday evening that Musk's role should be viewed separately from the government efficiency department he supports.
