Google Gemini Advanced launches chat memory feature to enhance conversation ability

According to Android Police, Google Gemini Advanced has released a significant update that allows users to recall past chat records and continue discussions, ask follow-up questions, and even summarize previous conversations without having to review old records. This feature brings Gemini closer to ChatGPT and Claude AI, the latter of which already has persistent memory capabilities. This update is currently available for Gemini Advanced subscribers in the Google One AI Premium plan. The new feature makes Gemini a memory based conversation partner that can refer to past discussions, summarize previous chat content, and continue long-term projects such as research notes or programming projects. In addition, Gemini will provide transparency when referencing past conversations, indicating that it has used stored information. Users can manage Gemini's memory function, including reviewing and deleting stored conversation records, setting the duration for saving chat history, or disabling this feature through my activity settings. This feature is expected to support more languages in the coming weeks and is planned to expand to Google Workspace Business and Enterprise customers.
