Maybe there's an ontology shift for some people that needs to occur where they think in flows and vibes (but still coherently) rather than objects or things or moments or particles or instances
there is a massive flow of agency and resources towards increasingly detached, traumatized, and advanced information-bending systems - the flow is reinforcing, will get more reinforcing, and seems to be further and further detached from something rooted in cosmopolitan flourishing for all sentient beings (the perspective of some people, including me, oftentimes) - that massive flow of agency is humanity self organizing an optimization stronger than the initial flow of agency that's assembling it and letting it bud off and become independent and burst - or adapt in all sorts of unexpected ways - furthermore, we don't know how to control strictly simpler flows or optimization processes like this in a timely fashion (e.g. dealing with pandemics or economic or social crises) because managing complex systems is difficult and requires your best science, artistry, mathematics, engineering, etc. - there's some time lag humanity has for responding to various threats/nuisances posed by different categories of complex systems
you can never perfectly point to any one model or event as 'the thing' - if you try and never notice, the frog boils and dies - you have to be capable of seeing flows, where things go, how the sources, the strongest levers of influence (technological, natural, economical, social, etc.) interplay and create feedback cycles
