BlockBeats News: On February 12th, Arbitrarum development company Offchain Labs announced that after governance voting approval, the dispute resolution protocol BoLD can now run on Arbitrarum One and Nova chains. BoLD allows for 'permissionless verification' on its Layer 2 ecosystem chain and enhances network decentralization and security. The system replaces previously listed validators with permissionless mechanisms and is open to anyone interested in network security to participate.
Offchain Labs stated that the validation of Optimal Rollups has been complex for many years. Even with proof of fraud, theoretically the blockchain is still vulnerable to denial of service attacks, and malicious validators may repeatedly delay withdrawals and status confirmations. BoLD has modernized the fraud prevention system used in Optimal Rollup by introducing an interactive, time limited dispute resolution mechanism. This ensures that disputes over the two Arbitrum ecosystem chains will be resolved within approximately 12 days.
