Odaily Planet Daily News: Digihost, a Bitcoin mining company listed on NASDAQ and the Toronto Stock Exchange's ChiNext board, has established a new subsidiary dedicated to building data centers for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) applications. The company announced on Monday that its newly established subsidiary, US Data Centers Inc., will be responsible for transforming its existing data center in Columbia, Alabama into a Tier 3 certified facility. Digihost acquired the asset in 2022. The Alabama factory will be developed in two phases with a total capacity of 55 megawatts (MW). The first phase will deliver 22 megawatts before the second quarter of 2026, with an estimated cost of $176 million. The second phase will add 33 megawatts by early 2027, with an estimated cost of $264 million. Digihost plans to primarily finance this $440 million project through debt, supported by future revenue from completed factories, although this amount is approximately four times Digihost's current market value. Last week, the company raised $6.6 million in an oversubscribed private placement. (TheMinerMag)
