According to a report by Golden Finance, Jesse.base-eth, the head of the Base protocol, stated in an article on X that further consideration has been given to the issue of whether BASE will sell all sequencer fees to Coinbase “ Purity tests like 'Do you hold all the ETH you earn?' are a form of interference and harmful to Ethereum. Excessive focus on these moral signals can distract our attention from real work, which is building products that people love and creating sustainable economic systems that allow more people to do the same. The goal of Base is to bring the world onto the chain. We believe that the best way to achieve this goal is to build a sustainable economic engine that can support this global growth. And we believe we need more on chain enterprises that can do this. For us, this means finding ways to generate income and reinvesting the money we earn back into growth - wages, grants, acquisitions, infrastructure, using Optimism to allocate approximately 15% of our income to public goods funding, one-time things like sponsoring solid audits, and many more. Our top priority is to build excellent products and a vibrant economy, and we will invest everything we can to achieve this goal. Spending money on growth is a good thing and should be celebrated! 4. At the same time, we also believe that holding ETH (which we hold over 100000) is valuable in enhancing its role as a store of value and sharing the upside potential we have created during the construction process on Ethereum, but this is a privilege gained through our ability to provide value. This is not the 'solution' that people should focus on, but rather the ultimate state obtained through useful and productive use of ETH as an asset. 5. We recognize that all of this is not as transparent as it may be - our quarterly reports are built around the structure of US listed companies. But as Base becomes increasingly decentralized as a global on chain economy, we are working hard to move more operational activities onto the chain (suppliers, contractors, etc.) so that they can be immediately visible, rather than following the quarterly rhythm of the off chain world
