The latest news shows that OpenAI is expected to achieve mass production at TSMC by 2026. The typical cost of chip fabrication can reach tens of millions of dollars, and it takes about six months to produce finished chips, unless OpenAI pays more to accelerate manufacturing. Sources say that within OpenAI, this training focused chip is seen as a strategic tool to strengthen OpenAI's bargaining chips with other chip suppliers.
