The exclusive agreement between Telegram and TON has caused dissatisfaction among developers and may lead to the marginalization of TON

Odaily Planet Daily News: Tim Delhaes, co-founder and CEO of the multi chain wallet Grindery, believes that Telegram's exclusive agreement with the TON Foundation may alienate developers, which will marginalize TON.
It is reported that Telegram now requires third-party encrypted wallets to use TON Connect and restricts mini programs to the TON blockchain. Delhaes explained that the policy shift includes providing developers with a strict migration window of 7 to 10 days. For decentralized ecosystems, this time frame is exceptionally short, as this transformation typically takes several months.
Although Telegram claims to be a supporter of decentralization, Delhaes compared its latest actions to those of Apple, Google, and Meta, which have been criticized for operating walled gardens that restrict external competition.
He further pointed out that the changes in Telegram's encrypted mini program have affected the entire encryption industry, bringing uncertainty to developers building applications in various blockchain ecosystems. Delhaes believes that this move may jeopardize Telegram's reputation in blockchain applications.
He pointed out that projects such as Hamster Combat and Notcoin have accumulated a large number of users, but he added that community and liquidity still exist on other networks. Delhaes stated that by creating exclusive clauses in its terms of service, TON may become irrelevant or become a gimmick only network, despite providing a good framework. (CryptoSlate)
