According to Foresight News, citing The New York Times, The Block reported that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is reducing the size of its cryptocurrency enforcement division and transferring some lawyers and staff to other departments. At the same time, the SEC has recently established a new cryptocurrency task force, which is expected to provide clearer direction for cryptocurrency regulation. The group has launched an official website, inviting industry and the public to provide feedback. SEC Republican Commissioner Hester Peirce stated that the task force will work to classify different types of cryptocurrency assets and activities to determine which ones fall within the regulatory scope of financial securities.
