Newton DAO announces launch of Newton Finance sidechain (NewFi)

On January 24th, Newton DAO announced the launch of a new sidechain, Newton Finance Blockchain (NewFi), to promote the development and application of innovative technologies such as global payments, decentralized finance (DeFi), and real-world assets (RWA). This marks an important milestone in the development of the Newton ecosystem, providing developers and users with more powerful blockchain capabilities. As part of this plan, the existing blockchain will be renamed Newton Core. The overall economic model of the project remains unchanged, and the total amount of platform native token NEW will not increase. It will still maintain a fixed supply to ensure the sustainability and stability of the ecosystem. Meanwhile, to achieve seamless interoperability, NewFi and Newton Core will be connected across chains through NewBridge. Users can freely transfer NEW tokens between two blockchains through NewBridge. This interconnectivity will create a unified ecosystem, allowing users to fully utilize the advantages of the two chains and meet the needs of various application scenarios.
