Odaily Planet Daily News: Cryptocurrency wallet Phantom has stated that the recently reported vulnerabilities do not pose a risk to user funds, following criticism from a security researcher named @ CloakdDev.
Phantom apologized for the communication delay in a public statement and emphasized its continued commitment to safety. It added, "We believe that this will not pose any threat to user funds in any way
However, Phantom did not provide further technical details or a timeline for any potential actions. Similarly, Cloakd did not provide any technical details regarding the so-called vulnerabilities.
On January 21st, Cloakd expressed disappointment with Phantom's response and announced the matter on X, sparking discussions. The researchers said, "Now, this has become a joke - I can't even get an update response from their security team
Researchers believe that for platforms of scale and coverage like Phantom, this delay is concerning. After Phantom responded, Cloakd refuted the wallet's claim, stating that the vulnerability "directly puts user funds at risk". Researchers urge Phantom users to take preventive measures, including backing up their seed phrases and considering using other wallets. (CryptoSlate)
