According to The Washington Post, Trump has been considering how to save TikTok through unconventional transactions and legal means. According to two informed sources, Trump is considering issuing an executive order to suspend the implementation of the TikTok "no sell, no ban" bill for 60 to 90 days after taking office. Trump has over 14 million followers on TikTok and has been seeking to fulfill his campaign promise of "saving TikTok". One of the insiders said that Trump hopes to sign the executive order shortly after the deadline (the day before the inauguration ceremony) to make the process as exciting as a movie. However, the strategy of using executive orders quickly adopted by Trump during his first term has raised doubts among some legal observers, who believe that Trump's words cannot completely overcome the law passed by Congress with overwhelming bipartisan support. Former National Security Advisor of the US Department of Justice, Allen Rosenstein, commented that "executive orders are not magical documents and TikTok will still be banned. Tip: The Washington Post's previous major reports on tariffs have a dark history of being criticized by Trump himself as "fake news".
