Hackathon Overview
Build & Brew - Espresso Global Hackathon attracted 485 developers, with a total of 151 projects approved. The event was hosted by Espresso Network and distributed a total of $100,000 in prizes across two tracks: "Caffeinate & Code" and "Cracking Composability." The main goals included enhancing Ethereum's composability and developing new cross-chain applications using Espresso confirmations.
The event achieved significant milestones, including the deployment of functional rollups integrated with Espresso Network, supporting the development of interoperable applications. The innovation focus was on utilizing fast and secure confirmations to enable cross-chain functionality. Multiple projects utilized the Open Intents Framework to build advanced application architectures.
The hackathon showcased the potential impact of Espresso Network on the blockchain ecosystem by applying its consensus layer to real-world scenarios. This event bolstered the network's mission to make interactions between blockchains more seamless and highlighted the important role of developers in driving composability. The final demonstration on April 7 showcased significant progress in developing Ethereum cross-chain capabilities.
Hackathon Winners
At the conclusion of the first Build & Brew hackathon, 91 Arbitrum Orbit chains integrated with Espresso were successfully deployed, paving the way for innovative cross-chain applications. The event set a total prize pool of $65,000, showcasing its industry impact, with prizes distributed based on deployment results on testnets and mainnets.
