On April 8, during the Web3 Festival HK, ChainCatcher successfully held an offline themed event "Crypto 2025: Breaking the Deadlock and New Beginnings" in Hong Kong in collaboration with RootData. The atmosphere at the event was lively, attracting numerous leaders from the crypto industry, representatives from cutting-edge projects, well-known investment institutions, and top KOLs to discuss the evolution direction and solutions of the Crypto market in the new cycle.
This event focused on the theme of "Breaking the Deadlock and New Beginnings," engaging in in-depth discussions around popular sectors such as AI, Memecoin, and RWA (Real World Assets). Representatives including Adam Jin, advisor to the Solana Foundation, Arda Senoz, head of ecosystem at Alchemy Pay, Jenny, head of the Chinese market for Avalanche, and Jaden Yan, chief architect of Aethir, shared their forward-looking insights and practical experiences regarding industry trends.
Keynote Speeches
The event officially kicked off with a keynote speech titled "OKX New Narrative" by Lanng, the Chinese brand director of OKX. In his speech, Lanng introduced that OKX has a compliance team of over 500 people and has consecutively released 29 reserve proof reports. The total asset amount of mainstream cryptocurrencies on the platform reaches $24.6 billion, with a clean asset ratio as high as 99.5%, reflecting strong asset transparency and robust operational capabilities.
Lanng also revealed that the OKX Web3 wallet saw a user growth of 991% in 2024, with daily transaction volume increasing 20 times, significantly enhancing ecosystem activity. Recently, the OKX Web3 wallet has successively launched features such as the X floating plugin and AI insights, while also adding black address monitoring and tracking capabilities to provide users with a higher level of asset security.
In the sharing titled "MEME is Not a Deadlock: Paving the Way for MEME to Global IP with AI Agents," Hacky Sack, a core builder of IPFUN, stated that IP is a story with traffic and influential products. New types of IP can leverage their own appeal to break free from the constraints of a single platform, distributing content across multiple platforms while maintaining synergy with the rights holders.
Hacky also disclosed the operational model of IPFUN, where the IPFUN operation team helps issue exclusive IP coins by introducing and incubating KOLs, IP operation teams, and NFT transformation teams, utilizing multi-agent support for content production. Users can invest in coins or consume this content.
Arda Senoz, head of the Alchemy Pay ecosystem, stated in his keynote speech "Bridging the Fiat and Crypto Global Economies" that since its establishment in 2017, Alchemy Pay has served as the infrastructure for blockchain payments, with its fiat deposit and withdrawal solutions covering 173 countries globally, supporting over 50 fiat currencies, and holding relevant licenses in the US, UK, Australia, Europe, South Korea, Indonesia, and other regions.
As of 2024, Alchemy Pay's registered user count has surpassed 3 million, processing over 8 million orders throughout the year, achieving a 300% business growth. It is reported that this year, Alchemy Pay will officially launch the public chain Alchemy Chain, focusing on stablecoin payments and transfers, and plans to introduce new features and products for fiat purchases of RWA and AI payments.
Eddie Li, CEO of AEON, mentioned in his themed sharing "Unlocking the Future of Crypto Payments for Effortless Mass Adoption" that AEON is providing real-world application value for digital assets through AEON Pay, breaking the technical barriers of traditional crypto payments with the concept of "payment abstraction," helping cryptocurrencies truly reach the masses and promoting crypto payments into offline scenarios and broader application fields.
Hunter, co-founder of RootData, also introduced the overall development of the platform on-site. Currently, RootData has recorded over 17,000 projects and 10,000 individuals, becoming a high-frequency query entry point for 2 million users, with over 4.2 million search requests per month.
RootData has established API data cooperation with over 50 projects, including OKX, Link3, RSS3, and TokenPocket.
Roundtable Discussion
In the roundtable discussion titled "How to Break the Deadlock in Crypto 2025," Adam Jin, advisor to the Solana Foundation, Jenny, head of the Chinese market for Avalanche, Cindy Shi, chief marketing officer of Kite AI, Sunova, growth head of GMGN, and Jaden Yan, chief architect of Aethir engaged in an in-depth discussion on industry trends and future changes.
Sunova, growth head of GMGN, stated that GMGN always adheres to a user-centered approach, and product strategies will be dynamically adjusted based on user preferences. She pointed out that Memes have strong wealth creation potential, creating economic value through "memeing," and in the future, Memes will have more application scenarios. Meanwhile, she believes compliance is a key factor in attracting traditional capital to enter the market and will accelerate the improvement of infrastructure and liquidity. Sunova emphasized that on-chain compliance is still in its early stages, but once implemented, GMGN will fully embrace this trend.
Jenny, head of the Chinese market for Avalanche, stated that Avalanche will focus more on the builder ecosystem in 2025 and has launched multiple incentive policies to support the growth of developers and communities. Jenny mentioned that the US is rapidly advancing crypto regulations under the new government cycle, and Avalanche will firmly support regulatory compliance. At the same time, she believes that RWA (Real World Assets) and payments present huge opportunities, and as the legal framework improves, more traditional financial institutions will accelerate their entry.
In the second roundtable themed "New Narratives of Crypto 2025," Feniz, growth head of XO, Joan Teng, founder of LOOP Space, Eligos Cheung, head of Asia region ecosystem for SaharaAI, JT Song, head of Greater China for 0G, and Anita, chief marketing officer of Juchain discussed the next stage of crypto narratives and innovative breakthroughs.
Feniz emphasized that community building is crucial in Web3 projects, and maintaining community activity while ensuring members benefit is an ongoing challenge. Regarding potential sectors, he mentioned that current crypto consumption mainly revolves around prepaid "recharge cards," and has yet to achieve a true "crypto credit card." Due to the high volatility of crypto assets, credit-based consumption products still need breakthroughs.
Joan Teng, founder of LOOP Space, introduced that LOOP Space has currently held over 100 crypto-themed Space events, attracting more than 150 KOLs. It is reported that LOOPSpace is an AI social platform powered by DeepSeek, introducing the GiftFi concept, aiming to disrupt the application of AI in social scenarios.
