The top players in the cryptocurrency world can be categorized into a few types.
From the perspective of the "Nezha" movie: there are only three types of divine-level players, while the fate of retail investors is mostly to become elixirs, aiding divine-level players in their cultivation. Among retail investors, there are very few who go against the odds and break free from the fate of becoming elixirs.
The three types of divine-level players are:
The first type occupies platform positions, such as various exchanges, mining pools, a few wallets/DeFi solutions, large nodes, etc. No matter how the cryptocurrency world changes or what they play, they are the true eternal earners, with long-term cash flow.
The second type is core players who rely on platforms. For example, projects that can be listed on both Binance and Upbit without a mainnet, yet can still be listed on top exchanges, and market makers can extract 38 million from this. Currently, the burden falls on the market-making side, but I think it’s better not to be naive; it’s not just the Move project. In fact, every project wants to do this, but it depends on their capability. In such projects, capable VCs organize and unite top resources, allowing Binance/BNB holders, VCs, and project parties to profit, regardless of whether the coin price is high or low, or whether it rises or falls; the only concern is to earn more or less.
From this perspective, any calls for trades or constructions are ineffective; the essence is still to enrich the core circle—there is still a long way to go from zero-sum to positive-sum in the cryptocurrency world. As for whether it will happen and when, if it cannot be controlled, as a retail investor, it’s best to prepare a good plan.
- The third type rides on trending flows. For example, OpenSea, GMX, bots, AI agents, GMGN, etc., actively or passively dance on the wind in trends, gaining immense wealth. This category has little to do with retail investors, and wealth comes and goes very quickly because trends and hotspots in the cryptocurrency world change rapidly.
Among retail investors, the main focus is on investment and trading. If the previous three paths are the paths to becoming divine in the cryptocurrency world, this one is undoubtedly the path to becoming demonic. For one person's success, countless fellow travelers fall, often grasping at a glimmer of hope in dire straits. For early players, it was still possible to hold onto BTC through understanding, but in recent years, wanting to go from zero to a billion basically requires different skills and luck.
Additionally, within this category, there are very few top-tier traders who focus solely on major coins like BTC and SOL for contract trading. Due to leverage, it’s like dancing on the edge of a knife, but they don’t need to care about anything outside of trading.
Many retail investors also want to become part of the third type of divine-level players without relying on investment and trading, hoping to be a shoe-shiner. This type is also quite common; do not look down on them, as everyone who wants to break free from their fate deserves respect.
