It cannot be said that looking at macro data will definitely lead to wealth, after all, there are many paths to riches, especially since the most lucrative schemes are written in the criminal law for everyone to consult for free.

Macro may not necessarily be a tool for making money, but it is a high-tolerance investment approach. The simplest strategy is to buy at the bottom during liquidity tightening and sell during liquidity easing. This may not guarantee 100% profit, but losses are certainly limited.

Moreover, macro is not something that can be understood just by talking; it requires a lot of study. Even if it’s not about understanding the global economy and policies, one needs to have an understanding of the economy and policies of specific countries.

The threshold for macro is said to be very high, yet it can also be very low. People like me, who have no education and no foundation, can still say a few words about it, but it is indeed just scratching the surface. However, since I started learning about macro in 2022, I have at least made some small profits in terms of general direction. While I can't claim to have struck it rich, I can manage to live comfortably in this small place.

I am not encouraging everyone to learn macro, after all, all roads lead to Rome. As long as one can make money, it is good. Whether it’s macro, data, technology, or even metaphysics, they all serve the purpose of making money. No one method is superior or inferior; any method that can generate profit is a good one.

PS: Especially in this cycle, saying that macro is not profitable is fine, unless everyone is just playing with memes. Otherwise, whether it’s cryptocurrencies, US stocks, or the Chinese A-shares, whether it’s US Treasury bonds, DeFi, or real estate, they all have a very close relationship with macro. If you can’t see it, it just means you can’t see it; it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
