"Everything we do is built for you."

Since the launch of the Nillion qualification check tool a few weeks ago, I have noticed increasing speculation within the community and on Twitter regarding airdrop allocations. Some are angry about it, while others are filled with anticipation, but currently, no one truly understands the specifics of the allocation.
Today, I want to further explain who we are rewarding and detail our approach to ensure that the rewards go to genuine community members, rather than those who treat the Nillion Discord as merely an airdrop waiting room.
The Uniqueness of the Nillion Airdrop
Before discussing the specific details, I want to be straightforward: we are trying a completely new approach. While this method may spark controversy, we firmly believe it will set a standard for how future crypto projects recognize community value.
Nillion has always been an innovative project. I wonder if everyone remembers our pioneering community round financing model? Many projects have since followed suit. This time, we are once again at the forefront, committed to establishing a new standard that prioritizes genuine contributions over mere profit-seeking participation.
Importantly, none of this would be possible without your support. Without the trust and efforts of core community members, this innovative approach could not be realized. It is your strength and belief that give us the opportunity to redefine the new paradigm for measuring community value in crypto projects.
Airdrop Matrix: Focusing on Truly Important Contributions
In designing the airdrop matrix, our team has focused the rewards on the following three main categories:
Community Value
Developer and Open Source Contributions
Participation in the Validator Program
These categories aim to reward contributions that have a profound impact on the project, whether cultural contributions (such as art, writing, and design) or technical contributions (such as code contributions on GitHub or web applications).
The creation of the Validator Program was intended to showcase the power of community-driven privacy, and we have indeed succeeded. However, in this process, we also encountered witch attackers and "wool gatherers." Some people ran one-click nodes (I had proactively contacted the founder of a one-click node operator to request the removal of Nillion), while others used multiple wallets, sometimes as many as 40, 50, 60, or over 100 wallets, to extract benefits from genuine community members.
This is not speculation; we have witnessed discussions in the Discord sub-community where "airdrop wool gatherers" openly shared their strategies.
Comments like "I claimed rewards with 50 wallets," or discussions on how to split IPs within Discord, clearly illustrate the issues we currently face.
We have decided that even if these accounts currently appear to meet airdrop eligibility, they will not be included in the airdrop list to ensure that rewards are genuinely distributed to our long-term supporters and true community members.
Weight Distribution Based on Actual Contributions
How do we determine which contributions are more important? The answer is simple: we look at their positive value to the project.
This is not simply assessed based on the time spent, but rather whether it has made a tangible advancement towards our mission. This is why certain roles and contributions receive higher weight, as they significantly drive the development of Nillion.
Certain cultural contributions can shape the core values of the community, and this impact cannot be measured by time. Those who have spent months volunteering contribute far more meaningfully than one-click node operators.
While we will not disclose specific details of the airdrop matrix, here are our decision-making and allocation principles:
Value-Based $NIL Airdrop Reward Framework
The following matrix framework outlines our reward system. The more projects you complete in these categories, the more rewards you will receive, and it will present a multiplicative effect.
Community Contributions
Developers
Participants in the Validator Program
Partners
Reward Bonuses
These do not directly grant you airdrop eligibility, but users who have proven their value in these areas will receive additional reward bonuses for their contributions.
Exclusion Criteria
We aim to include those who genuinely contribute to the network and project in the airdrop, but the following two groups will be excluded:
Category 1: Low Participation Secret Submitters
Submitted only 4 Secrets
Staked no ETH
No Discord roles (including reward roles)
Do not hold Nill Pill NFT
Category 2: Low Participation Later Validators
Joined the Validator Program after September 14, 2024
Staked no ETH
No Discord roles (including reward roles)
Do not hold Nill Pill NFT
By excluding these two groups, we can ensure that rewards are distributed to those who truly have a long-term commitment to the community.
From day one, we designed a highly technically challenging program to prevent pure "wool gatherers" from participating. We actively resist one-click node services that attempt to simplify the mining process, and the time spent fighting this is far greater than you might imagine.
The Significance for the Crypto Industry
We believe that what we are doing will set a benchmark for future projects. The first to break through barriers will always get hurt, but it is a price worth paying to establish better community recognition standards in the crypto space.
As for unofficial allocation query tools, please be vigilant and do not trust everything you see; patiently wait for the official announcement from Nillion's Twitter.
I hope this content helps everyone better understand the transparency behind our rigorous decision-making process.
To our community: everything we do is built for you. I see your efforts and appreciate your support.
We are not just building a project; we are setting a new standard for how the crypto community operates.
To victory together,
Charlie Rogers, Chief Marketing Officer of Nillion ⚔️
