A New Era of Staking Rewards
Unlike previous launch methods that overly favored insiders in staking rewards, $IP staking follows the principle of fair launch.
The foundation or early contributors will not receive staking rewards in advance, and no one can receive staking rewards before the community.
Currently, the Story network is still in the singularity phase, expected to last about 42 days since the genesis block (i.e., block 0) on January 19. All users are welcome to participate in staking or delegated staking — it should be noted that no staking rewards will be generated during this period, but it provides everyone the opportunity to decide whether to stake.

Time-Weighted Staking Model
Staking is the foundation of security and sustainability for any Proof-of-Stake blockchain. A well-designed staking mechanism not only ensures network security but also incentivizes the right participants to make long-term commitments, aligning economic incentives with network security and mission.
The time-weighted staking model of Story encourages long-term supporters. The longer the staking period, the higher the rewards, thereby promoting network stability and achieving the network's vision.
For example, if a user chooses to stake 2,000 $IP for a 90-day fixed period, he/she will ultimately receive rewards equivalent to staking 2,200 $IP. Even if the user extends the staking period after the initial 90 days, the reward bonus will still apply.
To further enhance network security, locked tokens can also be staked. However, we firmly believe that locked tokens should be treated differently from unlocked tokens, with a lower reward multiplier of 0.5. Additionally, these rewards will be locked for at least 6 months to ensure community prioritization.
