1. Market Observation
Keywords: Trump, ETH, BTC
The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has recently become a hot topic in the market due to rumors of a "second foundation." This rumor was initially raised by Lido founder Konstantin Lomashuk, who later clarified that such an entity has not yet been created. In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin's price is approaching the $110,000 mark, and the emerging project Nebula Stride continues to attract attention due to its unique model.
Regarding Bitcoin's development prospects, there are starkly different voices in the market: Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon believes Bitcoin poses a threat to the dollar and only sees it as an "interesting speculative asset," while some traders express concerns about Bitcoin's recent performance; on the other hand, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink holds an optimistic view, predicting Bitcoin could reach $700,000, based on the possibility that sovereign wealth funds may allocate 2-5% of their portfolios to digital currencies.
On the policy front, Trump has signed an executive order to establish a Presidential Digital Asset Market Working Group, chaired by "AI and cryptocurrency czar" David Sacks, with members including the Secretary of the Treasury and the SEC Chairman. This working group will be responsible for developing a regulatory framework for digital assets and assessing the creation of a national digital asset reserve. Notably, this executive order explicitly prohibits institutions from promoting the development of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and rescinds previous executive orders on digital assets, arguing that these policies stifle innovation and undermine the U.S.'s global leadership in digital finance.
Meanwhile, Trump's decentralized finance platform has become the largest holder of Ethereum stakes, but it disappointed the industry by not mentioning cryptocurrency during his inauguration speech. Despite facing selling pressure earlier this week, major analysts remain optimistic about the upside potential of digital assets. In the Ethereum community, there are ongoing calls for the release of developer Virgil Griffith and Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm, seeking Trump's assistance.
