The Coinbase app on Apple's U.S. App Store has experienced a notable rise in its ranking ahead of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance’s inauguration, which begins today at 11 a.m. ET. Coinbase’s position on the U.S. App Store has jumped from 193rd at the beginning of January to 21st today, according to The Block's Data Dashboard.
During the same period, other investing apps, such as Robinhood, have also seen a boost in rankings, though not as significantly as Coinbase. Robinhood has moved from 133rd to 103rd since the start of the year.
Additionally, memecoin launchpad Moonshot has become the top finance app on the U.S. Apple App Store and the #7 most popular free app overall, according to The Block's Data Dashboard. The surge in popularity comes in the wake of President-elect Trump's $TRUMP memecoin launch on Friday night.
As Moonshot shot up the rankings on the U.S. Apple App Store, outranking apps such as Instagram and TikTok, the team behind the platform celebrated the launch with a post on its X account.
"In the last 12 hours, we were featured on $TRUMP’s website as THE way to buy, processed nearly $400m in volume, crushed fiat onramp records by orders of magnitude, and brought 200k+ new people onchain," Moonshot's X account posted on Saturday.
The record-breaking traffic led to some issues on the platform, which the team pledged to work through.
"We have an extremely high load right now and are getting through all the support tickets," Moonshot said.
