The native asset ASTR of Astar Network will become the core asset of the Soneium blockchain under the Sony Group, driving ecosystem liquidity and user engagement.
Leading blockchain platform Astar Network announced a deep integration with Soneium (Sony Chain), a Layer 2 blockchain developed by Sony Blockchain Solution Labs, which launched today, expanding into the Ethereum ecosystem.
This integration aligns with Sony Group's extensive touchpoints in entertainment, gaming, and consumer electronics, while also enhancing the utility of the ASTR asset within the Optimism Superchain ecosystem. As a special integration partner of Circle, Optimism, Alchemy, Chainlink, and The Graph, Astar establishes a significant bridge between Ethereum's growing Layer 2 ecosystem and Polkadot's cross-chain capabilities.
A portion of the revenue from Soneium network validators will be reinvested into the growth of the Astar ecosystem.
The ASTR token will serve as a key asset driving liquidity and engagement within the Soneium ecosystem, supporting DeFi protocols and creator-centric applications. It will also promote integration with major consumer applications and payment solutions, enhancing its functionality within the Superchain ecosystem, providing access to leading Ethereum protocols, and bridging Astar L1 and Soneium through Astar's interoperability solution, Astar Portal.
