Wayfinder is emerging, aiming to bring revolutionary enhancements to agents in on-chain environments. The core design of the project is $PROMPT, and a Token Generation Event (TGE) will be held in the first quarter of 2025.

What is Wayfinder

In April 2023, researchers from Stanford University published a paper detailing a case study: 25 AI players simulating human behavior in an RPG game. This research inspired the developers of the Parallel card game, prompting them to begin developing an AI-centric game that ultimately evolved into the upcoming Parallel Colony.

Their vision is to create a new gaming model where human players can control and benefit from ever-active game agents. These agents possess unique personalities, learn from experiences, accumulate resources on-chain, influence each other, and engage in battles.

To realize the vision of Colony, the Parallel team decided to develop a dedicated AI infrastructure. This decision led to the release of the Wayfinder white paper and the launch of the Wayfinder platform. Currently, the Wayfinder platform is online but still in a closed Alpha testing phase, with its infrastructure under development.

It is worth noting that while Colony catalyzed the birth of Wayfinder, the design goals of Wayfinder are not limited to serving Colony or games. The system has on-chain compatibility and, once open, will support various on-chain agents across multiple networks such as Ethereum, Solana, and Base.

How Wayfinder Works

In the Wayfinder ecosystem, users can create agents that represent them in interactions with blockchain applications. For example, operations such as exchanges, minting, cross-chain bridging, and deployments can be performed through natural language commands without manual clicks.

To help agents navigate the on-chain environment, Wayfinder introduces Wayfinding Paths, which are predefined workflows. These paths are similar to roadmaps, providing navigation guidance for specific goals, such as completing cross-chain DeFi yield strategies.

This design fosters a growing knowledge graph, serving as a form of collective memory for Wayfinder agents, enabling them to continuously self-improve without repeating mistakes or starting decision-making from scratch.

At the core of the system is the upcoming native token $PROMPT, which can be staked to propose and maintain navigation paths and earn rewards through bounties or usage fees for new paths. $PROMPT may also be used to purchase premium agent features, such as expanded storage.

Earn $PROMPT by Staking $PRIME

The planned total supply of $PROMPT is 1 billion, with 45% allocated to community members who need to stake Parallel's token $PRIME within Wayfinder.

The staking activity began in June 2024 and will continue until June 2027. The longer the lock-up period, the greater the score multiplier for the $PROMPT allocation that users ultimately receive. While specific returns are currently unclear, if the market cap of $PROMPT reaches billions, it could yield considerable rewards.

User participation requires preparing some $PRIME on Ethereum or Base, then following these steps:

• Go to cache.wayfinder.ai
• Log in by signing a verification message with your wallet
• Click the “Cache PRIME” button, then click “Cache PRIME” again
• Read the tips about choosing a lock-up period, click “I understand” — make sure not to stake any funds you cannot access immediately!
• Enter the amount of PRIME you wish to stake in the interface, then click “Next”
• Choose the desired lock-up period, ranging from 21 days to 3 years, then click the “Preview PRIME Stake” button
• Confirm the settings, click “Cache PRIME,” and complete the transaction with your wallet
• After staking, you can track scores and badges on Wayfinder's “Overview” page and perform deposits and withdrawals after the staking period ends.

Conclusion

Wayfinder and a16z's Daydreams technology address the same problem: how to enable on-chain agents to continuously learn and independently achieve complex goals.

The core difference between the two lies in their unique architectural approaches. Wayfinder centers around navigation paths and $PROMPT staking, while Daydreams focuses on Hierarchical Task Networks (HTN) and has not yet involved token economics.
