Trading Insights
Veteran traders share their trading insights:
- Trading: 20% technique, 20% luck, 60% mindset.
- Identify the trend, find entry points, and calculate the risk-reward ratio.
- Frequent trading: Can't control the urge, set goals for yourself, stop after making a certain amount of U daily. Earning a living through trading is a mindset that cannot be achieved in the market.
- Not setting stop-losses and over-leveraging can lead to significant account drawdowns; this is a major taboo.
- Opening positions with account profits without setting a break-even point; dismissing small amounts can lead to missing out on larger gains. Many experienced traders make this mistake.
- Confirm the trend; do not open counter-trend positions for small profits when you don't have a trend-following position. Focus on one direction!
- The same stop-loss and take-profit points given by the teacher. Out of 10 trades, 7 may be profitable and 3 may hit stop-losses, leading to some making money while others face losses (liquidation).
- Determine position size based on stop-loss limits. For example, with a $10,000 account, if you can accept a $500 stop-loss, set your stop-loss at 1 BTC for a 500-point drop.
- Trading anxiety can affect your appetite and sleep. Constantly checking your phone while holding positions is a common issue for beginners. If you can't manage your mindset, you won't trade well.
- Set stop-losses when opening positions, ensuring each trade is within an acceptable range. Never get liquidated; you can always recover. It's not about who makes the most temporarily, but who can survive in this ever-changing trading market.
