In the past few days, I used the Pionex airdrop to buy a set of school district housing, which can be considered a Christmas gift for my daughter.
Years later, she may no longer have to squeeze through a narrow bridge with the thousands of people from Shandong. I sincerely thank Pionex.

At this moment, it has been exactly 1090 days since I joined the Pionex community. Over the past three years, even during tough market conditions and financial struggles, I never thought about selling, because Pionex is like another child, worthy of a lifetime of care.
Let’s rewind to December 2021, when my daughter had just turned 6 months old, and I had just resigned from a certain job, with little money in hand and no knowledge of the future, taking it one step at a time.
Even so, I still spent 0.7E to buy Pionex (then valued at 2800U) for a simple reason: I genuinely liked these chubby little penguins. Even if they went to zero, I still found them beautiful and never expected this project to issue tokens or thought I could receive various airdrops.

From that moment on, I had two children: one needed me to work hard to earn money for milk powder and toys, while the other required me to continue spreading the word and help more newcomers join.
To be honest, both tasks are not easy, but they are very fulfilling because passion can withstand the long passage of time, and kindness can shield us from difficult times.
Today, standing at a new starting point with Pionex, I want to share some snippets from the past three years, as a way to account for the past, hoping to inspire you.
1. First Impressions of Pionex: A Star from the Start
Pionex is a phenomenal NFT from 2021, endorsed by celebrities like Curry, and was deeply reported by The New York Times. Its short-term return rate exceeded a hundred times, and at its peak, the weekly trading volume surpassed Punk and BAYC.
When I first learned about Pionex, it was below 0.5E, but I hesitated to buy, watching the floor price rise to several E. Later, due to poor market conditions and internal conflicts within the Pionex community, the floor price briefly fell below 1E.
For me, this was precisely the right opportunity to buy, so I decisively took action, paying for my passion and indulging in Web3.
During that time, I spent every day in the Pionex Discord, feeling the warmth and unity of the penguin family. That feeling was wonderful, and even now, it brings back sweet memories.
2. Turning Point: Luca Invests 750E to Take Over
Good times didn’t last long, and Pionex faced its darkest hour.
First, the community criticized the opening of penguin eggs, and then the team was exposed for running away with all the raised ETH and preparing to sell the project. Opensea even temporarily delisted Pionex.
This series of blows tested every member of the community, and everyone was uncertain about the future. Fortunately, many chose to stand firm and help Pionex through the tough times.
The turning point occurred in April 2022. At that time, Los Angeles entrepreneur Luca invested 750E to take over Pionex, reassembling the team and designing a roadmap.
This event was a milestone, like a ray of light in the darkness, illuminating every member of the community and paving the way for Pionex's future.
I specifically asked the team to create a Chinese channel, but there weren’t many active users in the Chinese area, and later this channel was hidden, which was quite a pity.
3. Comeback: Simultaneous Efforts in Web2 and Web3
Under Luca's leadership, Pionex began its comeback journey, expanding in Web2 by maintaining stable cash flow through toys, clothing, and other merchandise, while continuously innovating in Web3 through cross-chain collaborations and SBTs with major projects.
As a result, during the entire NFT bear market, Pionex's floor price not only didn’t drop but actually increased, becoming one of the few blue-chip projects that didn’t rely on Ponzi schemes to maintain its floor price, and it also served as a representative for the entire NFT sector.
I must mention the advisory team of Pionex, which spans almost all tracks in Web3, including VCs and founders of leading projects. The combined influence of these big names is like a nuclear weapon.

With the efforts of the entire community, Pionex became a successful example of a comeback, and the spirit of Pionex was crowned with all the beautiful qualities of unity, optimism, courage, and innovation.
As a result, various projects extended olive branches during airdrops, including DYM, OMNI, ZK, L0, and so on. Roughly estimated, Pionex alone received at least 100,000 U in external airdrops.
4. Spreading the Word: Promoting Out of Passion
During Pionex's comeback, I acted as an unofficial contributor, continuously promoting through Twitter, WeChat groups, Discord, and other channels. I also assisted the Chinese community leader in managing WeChat groups and hosting Spaces.
Here’s a set of data: from 2021 to now, I have published dozens of tweets and articles about Pionex, with total views reaching several hundred thousand; I have posted thousands of messages about Pionex in WeChat groups, persuading several group friends to buy penguins and engage in L0 cross-chain activities.

Now, these group friends have received returns far exceeding expectations through Pionex, even achieving social mobility, and I am genuinely happy for them. Being their "guide" has been the most valuable thing I have done in the past three years.
The only regret is not obtaining the Pionex influencer SBT. What I value is not the rewards behind the SBT, but the recognition of past contributions.
5. Gratitude: Support from Exchanges and Media
On the road ahead for Pionex, there are many people and things to be thankful for. At this moment, the first to come to mind is Binance, along with many Chinese media outlets.
First, regarding Binance, they announced the HODLer airdrop plan just before Pionex's TGE, including $PENGU, allowing BNB holders to share 3% of the total token supply.
Binance's move aligns with Pionex's long-standing philosophy of attracting more users to join the community. This is also very evident in the design of the official airdrop rules, where you can see many NFT players and active on-chain addresses receiving valuable airdrops.
In fact, Binance's strategy has always been to bring incremental users to Web3, which coincides with Pionex's goals. In the future, I look forward to both parties collaborating deeply and jointly attempting some outreach activities to promote the prosperity of Web3.
6. Future: Full Participation in Abstract Construction
$PENGU is the first step, and Abstract is the second step.
As a deeply involved L2 project, Abstract aims to create a consumer-grade network, targeting users beyond just the Web3 traffic, but looking at the global market, helping Web2 institutions, projects, and individuals enter Web3 with low barriers.
Objectively speaking, many projects have previously used this narrative for hype, but to date, I haven’t seen a single success, and the final outcome has been mutual exhaustion within the market, with little practical significance.
However, Abstract is different; it is backed by Pionex. If Pionex cannot achieve it, then other L2s are even less likely to succeed.
